Laurel Tempered Safety Glass is a type of safety glass that is made stronger than annealed glass through controlled heat or chemical treatment. It is made by heating ordinary annealed glass to an extremely high temperature (approximately 650°C) to its softening point, and then rapidly cooling it. This process subjects the glass surface to pressure and the center to tension, thus increasing its resistance to wind pressure, impact, and thermal shock by 4-5 times compared to annealed glass of the same thickness.
Tempered Safety glass is widely used in applications requiring high mechanical strength and safety, such as glass doors, building curtain walls, facade windows, interior partitions, furniture, and partitions away from heat sources and in locations susceptible to severe thermal shocks.
