After installing the solar cell on the edge of the glass, the mixed coating is applied to the surface of the glass. After the coating absorbs sunlight, the light is transmitted at different wavelengths to the solar cell mounted on the edge of the glass. Mark Baldo, head of electrical engineering and research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said: "The coating can collect sunlight on large areas such as glass windows."
According to reports, this energy-concentrating material is not only suitable for glass, but also for plastic plates and the like. It can also be made in color or transparent and colorless, while it is applied to the glass window in a transparent color without affecting daylighting.
The coated tempered glass will now have a higher light transmittance.
