How dichroic glass is produced?
The dichroic effect is achieved by vaporizing and applying multiple ultra-thin layers of metallic oxides, such as chromium, titanium, or magnesium, onto the surface of the glass using a vacuum deposition process. The layers form a highly reflective, and interference-based coating that selectively transmits and reflects different wavelengths of light.

Installation Method
The dichroic film is a kind of material with self-adhesive, unlike glass coating, the film may cause delamination after being on the glass, and there are inevitably risks of bubbles, wrinkles, and irregularities.
Performance
The dichroic film has low-temperature resistance, and the processing temperature should not exceed 80°C, otherwise, it will cause wrinkling, shrinkage, or breakage. Not only that, the film should not be in contact with strong alkali-resistant products, or it will cause the product to fade or even shrink into a ball, which is not suitable for the outdoor environment.
Applications
The scope of application and processing of dichroic film in modern architecture is limited. Anti-corrosion and oxidation effects are far lower than dichroic glass. The dichroic glass has a hard coating that can sustain deep processing such as laminating and tempering.
