Acid Etched Glass
Acid etched glass is a type of decorative glass. It's produced with hydrofluoric acid. This process gives its surface an elegant opaqueness. It allows light to go through but the glass is not transparent.
1) The size of acid etched glass is the same as annealed glass. It can be also tempered.
2) There are single-sided acid etched glass and double-sided acid etched glass. Generally speaking, single-sided acid etched glass is more popular, but it's also more expensive.
3) There are various types of acid etched glass: completely acid etched glass, partially acid etched glass, clear acid etched glass, low iron acid etched glass, tinted acid etched glass, acid etched mirrors, etc.
4) Acid etched degrees can be adjusted according to different needs. Mostly, acid etched glass needs to be fingerprintless.
5) Due to the hydrofluoric acid, the production process is not environmentally friendly.
6) As a hazy art glass, acid etched glass is widely used upon background walls, suspended ceilings, dining tables, partitions, entrances, floors, stairs, doors and windows, coffee tables, etc. So this type of glass is quite popular in the decoration of home, hotels, bars, KTVs, and large cafés, sometimes even outdoor landscape.
A type of glass similar to acid etched glass is sandblasted glass or frosted glass. Produced by hitting sand articles to the glass surface, sandblast glass comes with a white and rough surface, which is not easy to clean.
