Product Description

Clear Acid Etched Glass is produced by masking the glass panel with an acid-resistant substance such as wax, through which the design is scratched, and then immersed in hydrofluoric acid or a mixture of dilute hydrofluoric acid and potassium fluoride is applied to etch the exposed areas of glass for finally distinctive, uniformly smooth and stain-like appearance which is impervious to fingerprints, marks, dirt or oil, making it the perfect choice for high traffic location and is available in a variety of patterns, textures, and translucency, providing esthetic and privacy with a high level of light transmittance.

Sandblasting glass is also other option for the frosted glass, but it is different from acid etched glass. Sandblasting tends to lead to a consistent, high quality finish and is generally better-suited to larger projects, or for simple designs on window panels where more frosting is required. However, sandblasted glass tends to show up fingerprint marks more readily, so this is worth bearing in mind when considering where your frosted glass will be used.
