Jumbo oversized tempered glass refers to extra-large sheets of tempered safety glass produced in dimensions significantly bigger than standard architectural glass sizes. Tempered glass is made by heating standard annealed glass to over 1000°F (538°C) and then rapidly cooling it with high-pressure air. This process-called quenching-causes the outer surfaces to cool and shrink faster than the interior, creating physical stress that makes the glass highly resistant to impact. If broken, it shatters into small, granular chunks rather than sharp, dangerous shards.
